I have no particular process to speak of when taking photos, except that I have to make sure that I'm "present" when am on my walks- I call them #microadventures if not traveling far. Photography for me is a meditative practice that requires calm observation and honesty.

I feel lucky to have travelled in an era when Google Maps/Translate and 4G weren't really a thing yet (2000s to early 2010s). Not to say it was better, but the fear of getting lost was more "real"- not figuratively, and not performative.

In your travels, are there places that made you cry? Mine are:

1. SYRIA. Was so moved by the kindness of new friends who woke up early just to see me off at the airport. Started to cry when they thanked me we met. Do I even deserve that? (This is just before civil war broke out.)

Among other things, what turns me off about #Threads #IG is that people are constantly PR-ing themselves. Everybody sounds the same, even the "niceness" comes off fake. Follow-for-follow (then unfollow) culture. Sad. Not participating in that, won't play the algo game.
