Tough not to be an alarmist when the evidence lines up.
All my life I have studied democratization and autocratization. My 1st field trip was to newly democratic Argentina. I then added autocracies to my portfolio: Cuba, Ven, etc. I think I can recognize the stages of transition to authoritarianism. Here are the boxes Trump has already checked off.

One can always nitpick at the specifics and the compromises, but this is the important work of governing. Simplifying and trimming the re-incidence of taxation are huge wins both for BR businesses and consumers.

I feel like I should have something to say about the Brazilian Fed Police's findings re: (would-be?) (botched?) coup attempt by outgoing Bolsonaro adm in 22.
But a) I'm not really that surprised, b) don't you get tarred and feathered if you imply Brazilian institutions are somewhat resilient? (1/2)
