Hello Bluesky! 🦋 I'm Jo/e (Joe or Jo) and I am a writer, comic artist, and graphic novelist. My work revolves around characters as the plot drivers. I generally write mundane fantasy, and incorporate family as theme a lot. Excited to post more of my work and art!

Lenert proceeds to wander off in the second panel, prompting two of the other kids to follow him in the third panel. The children hop down from their dads to pursue their curiosity. Lacey, a small demon child, and her friend Presel sit down in the grass to learn spells 101. Presel asks Lacey what she has to study to be "cool". As that is Lacey's purpose for learning--not to be a good student. Lacey describes how she needs to cast fire spells, but only wants to cast pretty ones. She points to her book in the final panels. Presel takes a look and lets Lacey know that the prettiest spells are the hardest ones.

The artisans of our generation are playing the sims, Stardew, and animal crossing instead of being commissioned to build cities and I can’t take it!!

Been trying to learn moho puppet animation in hopes of an easier animation workflow but frame by frame is still easier for me than puppeting. Once my rig breaks I start thinking about how I can just draw it instead of fighting bones. Pushing past the comfort of drawing everything is really hard.

I really wanted to do those progress logs for my comic originally, like how people do game dev logs (I love those!) or “I make a comic” challenge videos. But I draw so slowly and draw better without people watching so everyone just has to wait until I’m ready.
