I am a comic reader, collector, and reviewer. But most of all, I’m a comic lover!
The first story is written and drawn by DWJ. He tackles some interesting ideas in this story and his art is perfect for this Batman. The second story is written and drawn by James Harren. It’s got a gothic vibe to it that works well in a Batman story. This is a comic that everyone should check out.

Williamson is setting up a very interesting story here. Duke risks his life to save Cobra Commander. Reilly is back on art for this arc. I love the attention he gives to small details, like showing reflections in Cobra Commander’s helmet. This issue is the perfect place to jump on.

MacKay continues to focus on real human emotions in a super hero comic. Carbone’s art continues to be strong. The combination of thick, bold lines and thin lines complement each other very well. I love the choices he makes with shading as well. This is just a very well made comic.

I like Soule’s characterization of Kylo much more than what we got in the movies. Luke Ross is back on art in this issue. The hatching on Kylo’s face adds a lot to his expressions. Some of the page layouts are very unique and compelling. This series has really made Kylo a more intriguing character.

Peach gives us some fantastic backstory for Kageyama in this issue. We get to see inside his mind and really learn his motivations. As always, the art is top notch. The flashback sequences are all colored in a deep red that really stands out. I highly recommend this issue and this entire series.

Louise does a really good job with issue. The character development of Leech, Caliban, and Artie is rock solid. Walt Simonson’s art is a joy to look at. His page layouts are varied and interesting. His panel to panel storytelling is clear. This is a really good comic by two legendary comic creators.

Longtime Joe writer Hama does a great job juggling the massive cast of characters, making sure they each have their own voice. Bright and Emberlin make every page enjoyable. The angles are varied, the faces expressive, and the backgrounds aren’t boring. These old GI Joe comics are always fun.

DeMatteis tells us a story full of weird creatures and strange magic. The standout part of this issue is the work by legendary artist Gil Kane. The choices he makes in his shading are interesting and look great. This issue has a fun story expertly brought to life with dynamic, interesting art.

Simonson tells us an action packed super hero adventure story. The siblings interactions feel very organic. Brigman’s art is very fun. The action is clear and easy to read. Both the interior and exterior’s of the spacecrafts are pretty detailed. I really enjoyed this issue.

Loebs story was hard to get into in this issue. What did draw me in was Deodato Jr’s fantastic art. His page layouts are varied and bold. He uses a lot of speed lines to emphasize the action. His depiction of Joker is incredible. I will be searching for more issues of this run simply for the art.

This is an oversized issue, and Ahmed uses the extra pages to great effect. The art by Rosanas is a lot of fun. There’s a lot of gray tones throughout the issue. The use of grays really adds a lot of texture and depth to each page. This issue tells a really fun and meaningful one and done story.

Zub is able to weave in and out of the three separate narratives with ease. Gil’s attention to detail in the clothing and armor is fantastic. The fabric folds and flows organically and the textures on the armor feel realistic. This is another incredible issue from Titan Comics.

Chen continues to dive deeper into Aphra as a character. This issue gives us some insight into her childhood. Cummings has a bit of a cartoony style at times. He chooses to bend and curve a door when it gets smashed in. He does it again when a ship crashes. I’m enjoying this series quite a bit.

MacKay is tackling some topics that we don’t often see in super hero comics. This issue touches on PTSD and grief. Carbone does some things in this issue we haven’t seen him do so far in his time on this series. There’s a bit of cartooning. I think this should be on everyone’s pull list.

Guggenheim tells a full story and introduces 3 brand new characters that we care about after only a few pages. Musabekov is an artist that I am really starting to love. This entire issue is drawn in first person. The compositions in each panel are inventive. I love seeing creators trying new things.

North excels at writing satisfying one and done stories. Ramos’s art is once again fantastic. The design of the alien creature is wild. He gives us another moment of Reed stretching that is a bit horrific, but also shows some great cartooning skills. I am having a lot of fun reading this series.

Wolfman gives us a unique story structure. It almost feels like an anthology book. Every page by Colan is a masterpiece. His shading is perfect. I don’t think anyone does that better than him. Overall, this is an all star creative team making an amazing comic series.

Gilly gives us some background and recap through very well written exposition. Mayer’s art is fantastic. The most eye catching element to me is the depiction of cloth. The clothing, blankets, drapes, and furniture are all so textured. The folds feel organic. I highly recommend checking this out.

Mignola’s writing has made us sympathize with these characters. We see a lot more of The Crooked Man in this issue. He’s grotesque and menacing. Corben is the perfect person to draw him. This series is absolutely amazing. Mignola and Corben are a match made it heaven. Or, perhaps somewhere else.

This is a great story written by Percy. He sets up a lot of mystery. Smith’s art is fantastic. He varies up our point of view with wide or low angle shots. He makes intriguing choices with shading. When Ghost Rider finally shows up, it’s in a blaze of glory. This is an incredible first issue.

This comic is so fun. It has an interesting premise and is very well written by Fitzgerald. The art, by Engel, just adds to the uniqueness of this issue. The page layouts are very interesting. The line art is loose, almost sketch like. I definitely recommend this comic.

Kirkman throws us right into the middle of the action. It’s all written very tongue in cheek. The art by Phillips is pleasing to the eye. The gore is satisfying to the horror fan in me. The panel to panel storytelling is incredible. Overall, this is a fun, wild story that I highly recommend.
