Just caught myself in a Dad joke.

Son: Daddy, my toothpaste has run out.

Me: Well, you’d best go after it!

I love the scale of driving in fog between:

“No, I’m fine without any lights whatsoever as I drive my fog-coloured car” and,

“I must put my rear fogs on so the driver directly behind me in this line of traffic can see me.”

I had the honour of visiting my grandfather today for his 90th birthday. A wonderful achievement for a lovely man.

Well worth the upgrade then.

I’ve now managed over a week without feeling the need to stick needles in my eyes by looking at Twitter/X. Life is good.

I spent a couple of years trying to steer grieving families through court processes at Leicester. The sheer despair when the case would get adjourned yet again was palpable. The judges were regretful and had no choice, but sometimes it felt like cases would never conclude.

Couldn’t help but notice this happened on Burnmoor Street.

Assaults against emergency workers are nothing short of an epidemic now. These people are literally there to help others and don’t deserve to be attacked for trying to help.

Do you ever struggle to keep up with your work calendar? I’m even a day behind on my advent calendar, but at least there’s chocolate in that one!

This is going to be one of the most historic bills we’ve ever seen. Clearly some strength of feeling on both sides of the debate, but personally I’m in support.

I’ve been asked to edit a friend and colleague’s third novel, two years after doing the second one. Very excited to get started and get a sneak peek at where the story goes!

I love working in an academic setting. My vocabulary is already broad, but I keep learning new words.

Today’s word is “Conspectus:” A summary or overview of a subject.

I will be using that one from now on!

I’m no longer a police officer, but my proudest role was as a Detective Sergeant in serious collisions. One of my cases has just had a guilty verdict at trial. A devastating case where a daughter gave birth and had to identify her parents on the same day.
