Today, after serving 3 priests and coping with the church being set on fire in an arson attack, I step down as churchwarden. It has been a long and exhausting role. It has also brought me many friends, and made me laugh a lot.

Easter Sunday started with this awesome view on the way to church. Played banger hymns, including descants on my clarinet, sang in the choir and led the intercessions. Cooking roast dinner now. Classic FM hall of fame and a book until the Liverpool game.

Had an absolutely fantastic evening at Basilika St Aposteln in Köln listening to Anna Lapwood performing live to a packed church, and also broadcast live across Germany on the radio.

The saddest news from home today. Goodbye dear Ziggy. You've been an amazing friend. Heartbroken you won't be there to welcome me home for Christmas.

Preaching on safeguarding at all aged worship in the week all the safeguarding failures were exposed was pretty tough. Think it went OK. Home now for roast chicken, music and a good book.

Not really found the cricket fans on here, but so excited about this cricket World Cup final. Women's cricket centre stage. Delighted to see SA and NZ make the final. A special cricket day.

Sadly there can be no cricket in my garden (too small), but there is plenty of room for the crickets who seem to have arrived while I've been away.
