@fao.org released their 2025 report on the status of marine fisheries resources (openknowledge.fao.org/items/ac6d51...).
In talking to the media about the report at #UNOC FAO stated that ~57% of sharks stocks are sustainably fished (t.co/fVFnZkY4vQ).

And you can find my small contribution at the very end (literally - it is the very last section starting on page 2067). It is on the poorly known, but very threatened, weasel sharks. This is a family of 8 species, 7 of which are threatened.

🚨🦈📑This new status is incredibly valuable and important to anyone working on Sharks. Speaking for Australia, there are few singular resources that better describe and encapsulate shark fisheries at the jurisdictional level. A must read for all shark scientists!! Thanks to all who contributed!
