I heard Rama Duwaji, the wife of Zohran Mamdani is a visual artist. So I checked her website and found this great image that certainly suits the events of this week. May the fire of justice enflame our souls.

And here we are. My conversation with Rupert Sheldrake in which we meander through some of his life experiences to distill some principles that can help us to navigate these confusing times, in which we are constantly bombarded with competing theories, and truth claims.

This summer I found myself in London for a couple of days. So I visited Rupert Sheldrake for a cup of tea. A good chunk of our conversation was recorded as well. So another podcast with this inspiring man is coming soon.

It remains remarkable how contemporary policymakers prefer to associate themselves with the evil masterminds of Hollywood instead of the heroes. Trump portrays himself as a Sith and a European military project is openly called Sauron. They don't even try to hide the real intentions.

Here's my full conversation with Addison Hodges Hart on Christian #monasticism. We discussed how monastic founders subverting the militaristic logic of their time, how Eastern and Western Christianity differed in their approaches, and how we can integrate monastic practices into our own lives today.

The myth of the hero seems to be the only literary storyline many people can think of today. It even shapes our view of society. So together with Kevin P. Keating I revisited Joseph Campbell's work. Was he misunderstood? Or was his theory of the #monomyth flawed?

I had a very amicable conversation with author Kevin P. Keating. Are we 'story creating creatures' and can religions be seen as the inevitable result thereof? Is secularism just another form of religious storytelling? Can new types of stories allow more room for the contemporary revival of idealism?

"I suspect that it is sometimes harder for the 'religious' [or very devout] to be coherently Christian than for the 'irreligious' [or less devout] , precisely because the former often turn out to be more attached to the religion than to the one to whom it points." (David Bentley Hart)

A videoclip from my conversation with Professor William Cavanaugh on modern day idolatry, in which we discussed how "migrations of the holy" gave rise to the new gods of nationalism and capitalism. Perhaps #modernity never got over its #Godshapedhole because there really is a God out there.

I sat down with William Cavanaugh to discuss how modernity has filled “the God-shaped hole” with the gods of nationalism and consumerism. We are not disenchanted at all but rather dominated by the gods of our own making.

My personal reflections on the essence of reality and the ground of our being, an addendum to the conversation I hosted between Rupert Sheldrake and Bernardo Kastrup. It led me to wonder whether beauty could be the meaning of life.

I'm glad I could host a conversation between these two great minds. It turned out to be exactly what I had expected: a thought-provoking dialogue about various insights that #philosophy, #theology, and #science have to offer about the divine essence of existence.
