This is what I hope happens. Corporate American Mentality infected gaming like a damn virus and has been doing damage for over 20 years. They won't leave until they see its not worth it anymore which may be sooner than later.
Tale as old as the industry itself. Big conglomerate jumps into gaming when the market is riding high on some market wave, finds out making games is hard, actually, and leaves the space.
A few years go by, the video game market surges again and back they come.

Can someone explain to me why game prices should even go up? And if you include "market conditions" in your answer explain the term don't just drop it in a sentence.

Agreed. No amount of "If you have to explain it, it didn't work" is going to prevent the need to explain at this point. Xbox has a good premise but they executed it in a way that has left a lot of gamers (you know, their intended audience) confused. Now is the time for clarity not grandstanding.
My 2 cents “This is an Xbox” is about multiple access points to Xbox games and services beyond the console via PC, handheld and cloud devices

One of the most important factors Nintendo needs to come correct on with the Switch 2 is the price point. Every dollar over $350 is a gamble on consumers thinking the price is too high. Hitting $400 is pushing it but possible. Hitting $450 could leave Switch 2 Dead on Arrival.
