Maybe it's the conspiracy theorist/fiction writer in me, but I have little doubt that Schumer endorsed this deal behind closed doors and the eight turncoats were carefully curated as people that we either retiring or not up for reelection anytime soon.

It feels sometimes like some people feel the Dems are trying to play chess while the GOP plays checkers but the reality is that it is true they are playing checkers, the Dems are playing Candy Land. This shutdown is going to blow up in our face as we’ll slide closer and closer to absolute fascism.

If the last few pitch events have taught me anything it's that agents guides in pitches are my Rubicon. I don't like them at all. I mean I get that we have to do what's going to get us noticed, but what happened to the "it's all about the writing" thing that we keep hearing about?

Scrolling through #mockpit and #FiFRevPit has me yelling at clouds a little bit. I don’t like “agents guides.” They are awful pretty but at the end of the day your pitch is the bait and your query is what should reel them in. The agents guides just feel a little like you are trying to cheat.
