It's my 1st time in Kenya & it's AMAZING! I visited the National Museum of Kenya to learn about culture & history. I saw a replica of Lucy, our earliest human-like relative. Lucy walked upright 3.2 million years ago. I'm here as a delegate of Canada & Dal U at ACU Congress.

Editing sweep for the 3rd time before uploading the paper for publication, due tomorrow! This paper is about Etuaptmumk for conducting Two-Spirit research. It's a fresh approach by analyzing the sources of L'nu knowledge as the strength of the Etuaptmumk with Eurocentric perspectives.

Ashley Julien (Sipekne’katik) and spouse Izzy Rikihana Maori) co-presented on Ash's PhD study. They shared their work on conducting podcasts as part of interviewing the current community language-speakers discussing how trauma can negatively impact language learning, while speaking heals them.

A special Peruvian friend gifted me this tapestry, which I had altered so it could be hung with a curtain rod. I think it's perfect for our office space at the Office of Vice Provost, Indigenous Relations at Dalhousie University.

My cousin Starr Paul presented on language nests whereby toddlers learn to speak their first language (not Enlish/French) as Maori in New Zealand. She proposes that the nests would be an excellent model for Mi'kmaw re-generation of 1st language speakers in Eskasoni. I love it!

I'm finalizing my 3rd paper of my manuscript-based dissertation with one more great edit...and then I'll put it down for a week. I'll go at it once again for a final sweep before it goes into the draft dissertation. And it's starting to look like the finish line is looking closer than ever!

Heading to WIPCE in Auckland, NZ. I'll be presenting on the 2nd paper of my manuscript-based dissertation. It's close in finishing my dissertation and soon defense time.

Our tiny but mighty organization received the Pink Triangle Press Award for Human Rights Advocacy. As the co-founder and board chair, I represented the Wabanaki Two-Spirit Alliance in Toronto. And I sat at the same table as Doug Elliot and the legend Carole Pope.

If you don't place your toilet paper in this manner, then our ideology does NOT match, and you may want to reconsider your permanence amongst my peeps on this social platform.

Sometimes, I'm not entirely sure if it's their Halloween costume or their actual clothing and/or make-up.

I ran 4K today in just under 30 min. I'm slowly building strength on this 55 year old knee that's given me lots of challenges this year. It's only my 4th run since the injury stopped me from running altogether back in February. After x-rays and awesome physiotherapy at Dalhousie U, I'm healing!

Where is the best lobster roll in Nova Scotia? I've tried 12 different places this season, but I didn't get that amazing roll this season.

I just want one more lobster roll, but a great one.

Any suggestions in Halifax?
