An unexpected ramble on one of Europe's longest hiking routes prompted these thoughts...
The Arteries of Europe
Unassumingly ambling through a forest East of Cologne, I stumbled upon something unexpectedly that got my heart racing.

In a sweaty basement in Glasgow, as the freezing winds of winter were approaching in November, I performed a Gathering South Session.

Live tracks of that show with some writings are up on Patreon. Thank you all for the continued support l, it really means a lot.

I was pretty shocked when I found this out. So here's my response to the Danish on this tour...
An Open Love Letter to the Danish Postal Service
With one week remaining on my two and a half week European Tour, I am relishing a rare, unheard of opportunity on tours.

As a Millennial approaching my forties, I look back on the pre-digital era and maybe, just maybe, take influence from those times.

Would love to hear what you may be doing to go more ‘analogue’…

In contrast to last week's Spine Race, Right to Roam Sheffield & NW spent a day of intuitive rambling around the rump of Kinder.

Like the Sheff & Manc ramblers of the 19th and 20th century, we follow in their legacy, symbolically meeting at Kinder to open a new chapter in @righttoroam.bsky.social

Today, we hosted a three hour collaborative social walk around the edge of Kinder Scout between Right to Roam Sheffield x Right to Roam NW.

In the footsteps of those from both sides of the Peaks who fought for access, we aim to strengthen links between our groups for 2026! @righttoroam.bsky.social

Reflections on 2025 now on Patreon 👇

One of the best ways to support independent artists directly is through Patreon. It's been a way I've been able to support my practice for the last five years, and I want to take it further into 2026.

Looking back at the year's highlights, month by month on Patreon, the obvious one that stands out is walking the Pennine Way.

But a personal one, was making the move to Sheffield, the folky capital of the UK. I haven't felt at home in a place for a long time, and whenever I'm away, I miss it.

A Christmas Day tradition for me.

To visit my favourite stone circle for a blustery, atmospheric moorland yomp. Today, it was FREEZING winds.

What Christmas Day traditions do you do?
