Ring ouzels will have headed south for now, but will return by March to breed in April. 🐦

Seen at Schiehallion, Nevis, Quinag and Strathaird, this mountain wanderer has many names - from Dorset’s Michaelmas thrush to Scots “aiten chackart.”

Last weekend, 1,700 runners and supporters gathered at Nevis Range for the return of Salomon Skyline Scotland.

The Ben Nevis Skyline saw over 400 racers tackle a challenging 28.1km run taking them over the summit of Ben Nevis.

Mostly active between dusk and dawn, pine martens rarely reveal themselves easily.

But while notoriously difficult to spot, this is an animal that, in Scotland at least, continues to recover lost ground following past human persecution and habitat loss: eu1.hubs.ly/H0n4kP20
