Dear Mr. Will, I disagree with your suggestion that public broadcasting is “useless” as an “appendix.”In fact, if I had to compare PBS to a human organ it would be the heart. And since we’re comparing people and things to human organs…Well, I’ll stop short of what I would like to say, Mr. Will.

One morning when my 14yr old schnauzer, Rocky, was in failing health, we woke, stretched, and watched a beautiful sunrise pour into the room. As I looked at him I smiled and I spoke these words: “Hey bud, good morning. It’s another day you get to be you.” I still miss him. These words still heal me.

Right now, good #journalism means continuing to extinguish the left’s relatively minor offenses while combating the raging fires of intentional #disinformation from the hard right.
