Things can only get better ! NYC sunset is nearly at it's earliest for the year. Sunsets start to slooowly get later starting on December 13th. YES ! A week before the solstice. The solstice is still the day with the least daylight but it's not the day with the earliest sunset

Early sunsets got you down ? Don't complain. In parts of Alaska, they will be dark for the next 60+ days. They won't see a sunrise or sunset until January 22nd.

Will NYC see the northern lights tonight ? It's not likely. Space weather forecasting is tricky but the chance is less than 10%. Cloudy early and then weaker energy late

Went for a walk ! Backpacked 40 miles on the Appalachian trail in Connecticut over the Columbus Day weekend. Started in sunshine and finished in a nor’easter. Rain and wind wasn’t too bad.
