A Siberian Chiffchaff trapped this afternoon was the highlight from the Swannery. 5 Firecrest dotted around the site. Autumn doesn't feel anywhere near over yet! @swannerysteve.bsky.social

Whooper Swan in the fields between Stadium Roundabout and Kingston Mauward this afternoon. Standing proud not too far from the road - even Frances spotted it. Earlier 2 Black Redstarts around our house.

While perhaps not hitting the heady heights of last November just yet, I have had 3 additions to my trapping list with White-speck and Caloptillia semifasca yesterday and a Blair's Mocha this morning. I'm still hopeful of tonight, there were moths all over the place around the MV this morning!

Nice seawatch at the bill this morning with a Little Auk slowly west before losing sight behind the obs trees the highlight, also Ad Pomarine Skua, 2 Sooty Shearwater, Balearic, Arctic and Great Skua, 400+ Kittiwake, Purple Sand 8:30-12.

2 calls were also recorded from this mornings Yellow-browed Bunting - they were made while it was in the ringing bag. It also called several times in the hand and upon release macaulaylibrary.org/asset/642664...

Yellow-browed Bunting trapped, ringed and released at the Swannery. It's flown to the hedge which runs alongside the Swannery grounds and the bird may be viewable from the permissive path heading west from Grove Lane.

Radio message from @swannerysteve.bsky.social to say there was a Caspian Gull on the bund, I was tied up with a net full of Blue Tits, thankfully it stayed long enough for me to process them and gross out on this stunning Cachinnans!
