For a religion as old as Judiasim it's kind of crazy how recent Hanukkah is. Like it's a real event that went down in 200BCE. It's almost as close to modern times as it is to the founding of Judaism.

My last job (2017) did instant messaging using Pidgin over an on prem XMPP server when I started. Earlier job used a hacked implementation of AIM that couldn't leave the LAN. Technology used to be so beautiful.
