This was a fun little paper with Rachel Bainbridge where we discovered that Xenopus laevis, a model organism in fertilization research, lacks the gene for PLCZ1, an enzyme previously thought to be essential for fertilization. 🧪

I competed in a climbing competition. I didn't do well (143rd place) but I *did* do better than expected. Also, it was a lot of fun!

🧪 Question for BlueSky science community.

For false discovery analysis with gene expression data, I would use q-values (Storey-Tibshirani) to control for the large number of false positives derived from multiple hypothesis testing. But let's say you have copy number variation data?
