Too many Michigan families are living in fear that one catastrophic illness or injury could upend everything. As governor, I will work to ensure health care is affordable, accessible, and fair. For all of us.

I’ve spent my career standing up and fighting for the people of Michigan. I won’t back down when it comes to protecting your rights, your freedom, and your future, because leadership means showing up and doing the hard work. Every day.

Tonight I joined hundreds of fellow Michiganders in Ann Arbor to mourn the lives lost in Minnesota amid the ongoing violence from federal officers.

Last week in Traverse City, I sat down with hardworking men and women who have done everything right over the years but are being failed by our broken healthcare system. Healthcare is a right, not a privilege. As governor, I’m going to ensure Michiganders can access *and* afford quality health care.

Driver’s education opens doors to jobs, sports, activities, independence, and safer roads. I’ll keep working to expand access to affordable, high-quality driver training across our state and streamline the process to becoming a driving instructor.
Benson wants state funds for driver's ed
Michigan had a fund that helped pay for districts to offer driver’s ed options. It went away in 2004. Now, only a few districts still offer driver’s training.

Happy Birthday, Michigan! 🎉

189 years old and the best is yet to come!

I’m honored to have the support of mayors and lawmakers from all across Michigan. Our growing coalition is rooted in a shared belief that progress happens when leaders work together in service of the people — and that we all do better when we all do better.

I watched the video of masked government agents taking another innocent life again with horror. This is not normal. This is not acceptable.

Keeping our communities safe, protecting people’s lives, standing against horrific violence, and protecting our First Amendment rights are not partisan issues.

Healthcare should be accessible and affordable for every Michigander. Period.

Touring a small healthcare clinic in Traverse City today, I witnessed firsthand the difference the dedicated doctors, nurses, and care staff make in the lives of those who call this great city home.

Strong leadership and shared values. I’m proud to have Senate Majority Leader Winnie Brinks on our team.

Today marks the anniversary of Roe v. Wade — a reminder of the freedoms it once guaranteed for all and the lives it protected.

Experiencing a miscarriage showed me just how critical timely reproductive healthcare is and gave me a deeper understanding of the struggles countless women face.

Senate Majority Leader Winnie Brinks is a dear friend and trusted leader. She leads our State Senate with a focus on putting the needs of Michigan families first and delivering a better future for all who call our state home. Her leadership is steady, smart, and values-driven.

One year ago today, I launched my campaign for governor with a simple belief: Michigan should be the best place to be a kid, raise a kid, and call home. As we head toward November, I’m ready to do what I always do: win and deliver for Michigan.

When more Michiganders have access to affordable healthcare, everyone thrives.

My healthcare affordability agenda tackles high costs, insurance denials, and access gaps so every Michigander can get the care they need, when they need it.

I’m proud to earn the endorsement of the Michigan Democratic Party LGBT&A Caucus. Their support reflects a shared commitment to dignity, safety, and full equality for LGBTQ+ Michiganders in every corner of our state. We are strongest when everyone is able to live freely and authentically.

As Dean of Wayne State Law School, I worked to train the next generation of advocates for justice. So it’s personally meaningful to have the Michigan Association for Justice on our team and supporting my campaign for governor.

I believe people-driven leadership means  showing up, staying steady, and never losing sight of who or why we serve. No matter the obstacles or the moments meant to slow us down, our responsibility is to keep moving forward, protect what matters, and deliver for the people of Michigan.

The work of those who fought, bled, and marched for a better world is unfinished.

And it’s up to us now to carry their baton forward. Not just for those who came before us, but for the young boys and girls who will inherit what we leave behind.

In the days after the 2020 election, when lies and threats were used to undermine our democracy, I turned to Dr. King’s words from Selma — reminding us that truth always rises and no lie lives forever.

Donald Trump has made it painfully clear what he thinks of Michigan’s union workers.

The hardworking men and women who built this state deserve dignity and support, not insults from a President who thinks he’s above them. He isn’t and his behavior is beneath the office he serves in.
A Ford worker called out Trump. The president flipped him off. Now, he's been suspended. • Michigan Advance

I’m deeply honored to earn the support of the Michigan Democratic Party Black Caucus. This endorsement reflects our shared commitment to justice, opportunity, and building a coalition that truly lifts every voice.

At a time when people are losing coverage and can’t afford to pay their hospital bills, my focus is on making sure healthcare is affordable, accessible, and fair.

Healthcare decisions should stay where they belong — between patients and their doctors.

Lieutenant Governor @garlingilchrist.bsky.social leads with heart and passion.

I’m thankful for his commitment to Michigan and standing tall for all of us. I look forward to continuing to champion the work he’s helped inspire as we build a winning, people-driven campaign for governor.
I’m a public servant, an entrepreneur, a dad, a husband, and an engineer who spent a lot of my life making the government actually work for people. I’m not done with that, not by a long shot

Today, I am declaring my candidacy for Secretary of State of Michigan.

What happened in Minneapolis last week was horrifying. An ICE agent killed a U.S. citizen, a mother — under a federal administration that has fueled fear and division instead of safety.

It’s time to say clearly: not in my community. We reject this rhetoric, and we will keep each other safe.

When families are denied coverage at their most vulnerable moments, it’s not just an administrative failure, it’s a moral failure and an abdication of our responsibility as leaders in Michigan. We will change that.
