Did you know that the majority of hotel slippers are 'disposable'? I thought they went in the wash with the towels. All the mainstream suppliers sell single use slippers - often 100% polyester, some with hard soles. I'm genuinely shocked #SustainableHotels #CircularDesign

Regarding contract upholstery fabrics (which are not generally machine washed) is cotton (non-organic) or recycled polyester a better option? Are microplastics a serious concern if being spot-cleaned? Who's researching this stuff? #SustainableTextiles #MaterialScience #InteriorDesign

Another stand-out exhibitor at the Surface Design Show this year was Koukos de Lab who use olive waste to create a really elegant solid surface www.koukosdelab.com. Probably not suited for hardcore contract use but nonetheless a stunning innovation #SDS25 #SurfaceDesign
