Working on my opera, I'm now in a fascinating process of directing my transcribed letters, 288 pages or 207 letters, from very crude into ever-refining categories, until they find the right character they will be shaping in the libretto.

On my walk yesterday, a landscape hard to capture on a photo. The river is the Maas and the houses are of the village I am from. To the left of the Maas is Belgian Limburg, to the right is Dutch Limburg. Some men decided this, sitting on a chair far away from here. #borders

My old gaff at the Prinsengracht in Amsterdam, where I lived with Gapie. Close to the Anne Frank Huis. Unimaginable to be living there on an artist's budget these days.💰 How lucky that happened.

Great visit to the Hamburger Bahnhof museum. This piece specifically resonated with me as a comment to the devious glorification of the 'temporary' mindset, also know as 'pop up'. A capitalist spin to render the uprooting of communities as adventurous and trendy.

View from my window seat. In the 17th century ships travelling from Amsterdam to overseas would have spent waiting and travelling for days or weeks, with peril of running aground just here in this channel between Texel and Den Helder, having not even left the country. #PrizePapersOpera

Woohay! 🥳🥳🥳 Fresh from the printer: 288 pages of transcribed Dutch letters dating from 1664 that have been keeping me busy last 18 months. Highlighter ready for action, let the libretto writing commence! #prizepapersopera @thenationalarchives @prizepapers.bsky.social
