I agree. The Trump administration needs to see their opposition get stronger over time. Major protests held monthly across the country might be a good start.

I may be wrong about this, but do not think I am: it is imperative that all news outlets that interact with Trump for the next several weeks, keep bringing up that Time cover of Musk behind the Resolute Desk. That may do more to save democracy than all other efforts combined.

The problem with that idea is that Republicans over the past 10 years, at least, have proven they also do not know how to govern. So, what then?
The thing to understand about Trump is like in his first term, he doesn’t want to govern. He doesn’t want to learn. He wants to campaign and look good.
Republicans know this. So there are battles going on right now to take control of the actual process of governing.

I will never understand why Republicans live in such fear of others' rights. While claiming to believe strongly in the tenets of the Constitution, every day they put forth bills to lessen the rights of others. We must hold together these next four years, and ensure our rights are never thrown away.

Hopefully, you know the increased funding they will put forth is so Trump can get credit for the 'win' because he's a petty jackass.
So Trump’s Deportation Czar Tom Homan says it’s impossible to dramatically increase deportations with the current funding levels for DHS, so he needs a lot more money from Congress before he can do it. Which is exactly what the bipartisan border bill Trump killed was all about.

Trump thinks this has been a terrible experience. He should see it through the eyes of the people who know he was a terrible president before, and will be a terrible president again, with nothing we can do to prevent his swearing in. It is going to be a disastrous four years with a fool in charge.

Sadly, those most likely to fall for Trump's lies are those who did not pay attention in school, so do not know what any remotely possible true version of our history entails. It truly is frightening to listen to how strongly they defend Trump's lies when the end of their own freedoms are at stake.
I'm wondering if we should start betting on how many of Trump's monstrous picks don't last six months, and how many replacements he brings on over his 4 year term, assuming JD & his cronies don't pull Article 25 on him. It is known Trump has no loyalty to others so this scenario is almost a given.

Most people do not know who Sarah McBride is, but when they see her, they see an attractive woman out and about taking care of her own business. That is true for most people who identify as transgender. If their life does not affect yours in any way, you should not care how they choose to live it.

While I find it refreshing that BlueSky is filled with positive voices, it also would be nice to see some who voted for Trump and soon find themselves disgruntled by their choice arriving to see what positivity and a trend toward good trouble is all about.

It is astounding this message from Carl Sagan is less than 30 years old. It is amazing how fast a society can fall from grace when they embrace ignorance and disdain the pleasure of knowledge, especially when that is the foundation upon which to grow and thrive.
