I believe that part of being an attorney is being active in your local community as a leader, a mentor, or a volunteer. For the past three years, I have served on my local school board and am running for re-election again this year. 🧵

Spent the morning doing sound for an MLK day event—clips from his final speech laid on top of a piano arrangement of “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” After hearing the original, we had speakers reading the excerpts in Spanish and Creole. Despite the weather we had over 50 attendees.

Listened to Claire Keegan's "Foster" and "Small Things Like These" back to back and was completely blown away. Masterful story telling.

Lots of thematic overlap between The Sympathizer and Say Nothing. Regret, remembrance, and disillusionment with the promise of revolution/rebellion versus the reality. Recommend both (and the series adaptations as well) highly.
