Postdomestication selection of MKK3 shaped seed dormancy and end-use traits in barley
Anthropogenic selection of grain traits such as dormancy has shaped the developmental trajectories of crops. In cereals, shortening dormancy provides rapid and even post-harvest germination, but incre...

Happy to contribute to the excellent work from our collaborators where "1 + 1 ≠ 2". Instead of increased susceptibility to #rice_blast, loss of 2 CPK5 paralogs led to #Effector-triggered_immunity (ETI)-type of resistance, thus showing importance of #calcium_signalling.

Happy to contribute to writing this review on calcium signalling & plant immunity (with the team from Tina Romeis's group). A main takeaway is that "responsiveness" states of sensors can explain most of the Decoding via Calcium signature/Chemical switch.

Sometimes the most useful insights come from what doesn’t work. We tested a dual PRR stack: LORE blocked Ralstonia, while FLS2xl could sense Ca. Liberibacter flg22 but didn’t stop infection. Congrats to @jerrytli.bsky.social and all co-authors! onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...
