I write plays about alligators and scholarly books about mermaids and Disney, administrate, run longish distances, and remodel my terrible house. All views are my own and do not represent my employer.
In our recent book we argue the reason "Disney Adults" troubled folks is that they were seen as refusing to uphold "adult" responsibilities about focusing on "reality" (ie, thorny social issues). Which is maybe why its so notable to the media that-- surprise-- that is clearly not the case.

I haven't figured out Bluesky's vibe yet and I'm increasingly torn between my eternal desire to connect with the world as a writer and my deep suspicion of social media.

I don't believe that the universe sends you signs, but I do believe that if you're on the fence about something you'll find signs to support what you already secretly want to do. Today was that day for me in deciding my next scholarly projects.

I don't have the artist community on here that I did on the old place, but anybody know any really exciting British theatre designers that I should know about (who are not so famous they wouldn't be interested in working with an American university)?
