A couple of our chicken pens are now laying well enough to start testing fertility! First are the Svart Honas - these birds, also called Swedish Black Hens, are a highly endangered landrace believed to be descendants of Ayam Cemani 🖤

The other day, we let the boys play King of Poop Mountain while we worked - by “let,” we mean they bum-rushed us as soon as we took down the barrier to get the tractor in 😅

It's walled off because a) poop, and b) it's close to a deer trail and we don't want our guys to catch their parasites.
