Can someone explain to me - as if I were five years old - why any entity sued by Trump would want to settle? I am a college professor and wonder why a University would choose to settle rather than wait for Trump to inevitably lose interest and chicken out.

TFG wants desperately to be seen as tough, influential, smart, good looking. Lacking these things, he surrounded himself with people who would proclaim to him that he indeed is all these things. Deep down, I think he knows they are just sycophants, saying what he wants to hear. I ALMOST pity him.

In an encounter with a police officer, the officer has weapons, armor, radios, skills in subduing subjects, and training in deploying all of those things. The fact that such a person can feel unsafe or threatened by civilians is ponderous. Fear is a powerful narcotic.
