I have worked the past 20 years to help to strengthen democratic institutions around the world to make a safer, more stable world for us and our allies. This administration has spent the last 20 days trying to destroy that work. Now is the time, then, to strengthen our own democratic institutions.
Why are immigration agents assaulting, detaining and arresting American citizens? "We found more than 170 cases this year where citizens were detained at raids and protests. ... Agents have arrested about 130 Americans, including a dozen elected officials ..." www.propublica.org/article/immi...
More Than 170 U.S. Citizens Have Been Held by Immigration Agents. They’ve Been Kicked, Dragged and Detained for Days.
The government does not track how often immigration agents grab citizens. So ProPublica did. Our tally — almost certainly incomplete — includes people who were held for days without a lawyer. And near...

This is how you deal with a former president who leads an insurrection.
NEWS: Former South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol has been sentenced to life in prison after a court found him guilty of leading an insurrection tied to his 2024 martial law declaration that triggered a constitutional crisis and military raid on the National Assembly.

Next goal wins the gold medal. Fifth consecutive sudden-death OT elimination game of these Olympics. Maybe the two best days of hockey ever. #USAHockey

Are you kidding me? More Olympic overtime hockey? Swiss women win the bronze over Sweden with a last minute OT goal. Alina Muller with the medal-winning goal for the second time, having scored the GWG 12 years ago as a 15-year-old.

Corporate media executives are selling out the First Amendment to curry favor with corrupt politicians.

This is the most dangerous kind of cancel culture — the kind that comes from the top.

The real fight in this country is not left vs right; it’s top vs bottom.

How much money would you need to reclaim your balls from the blind trust you put them in last year? CBS President George Cheeks made $22 million in 2024. Was that the best day of hockey ever? Eight best teams in the world, four games, three late tying goals, three OT games, USA advances. Quinn Hughes, American hero. (Move over, T.J. Oshie.) And we will see you Friday afternoon. #USAHockey

Today is the last day of my Washington Post subscription. For 55 years, I’ve started my morning with a printed newspaper at breakfast, starting with the sports section. I was excited to move here 30 years ago and have the Post as my local paper. Closing the sports department was the last straw.

Had to wake up early today and was very excited to find 6 am Olympic hockey on. Every morning should start with Olympic hockey. Slovakia beating Germany 4-1 after two periods. Pulling for the Caps’ Martin Fehervary and his mates.

When I worked at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, a key question for prospective allies was whether they would be security contributors or consumers. NATO needs Ukraine as a member, not so NATO can protect Ukraine, but so Ukraine can help NATO prepare for the future. www.wsj.com/opinion/nato...

5-1 win for the USA. About halfway thru, the Americans started to wear down the Latvians with their depth and pulled away. Strong shifts in the offensive zone to generate scoring chances. This team has a legitimate chance to win gold. #USAHockey

Brock Nelson finally gets one to stick on the scoreboard with a slick move in front of the net to make it 2-1 USA. In the first period, he was offside on an apparent goal, had a goal washed out for goalie interference, and hit a post. #USAHockey
