(He/Him) I run a TTRPG blog and I love to talk about TableTop RolePlaying Games beyond Dungeons & Dragons. I also occasionally branch out into horror movies, anime, YouTube, and other nerdy interests.
If you say, "There are too many TTRPGs on the market." You're just plain wrong and that's gatekeeping. Dude, if your whole conclusion is "buy your stuff," or "just play D&D?" Please stop making videos about the rest of the hobby. There is no such thing as "Too Many TTRPGs."
Friday Feature: Silly TTRPG Arguments- Too Many Games.
I can't believe I wrote three pages disputing the most preposterous notion I've ever heard in a DungeonTuber video and we're only a month into 2026.

Lots of odds and ends this month. Dispelling one YouTube myth. Explaining some of this financial dilemma I find myself in. Hope you're having a lovely week!
Freedom Day, January 2026.
I originally intended this to go up on Monday and then things got busy here at home. Sorry.

They came from another dimension, just the tip of the invasion spear. They appear and disappear at will. Possibly a demon, or possibly an extraterrestrial.
Gray Oni Conqueror
Yes, I know what day it is, but tomorrow is the 19th. The Monday Monster has appeared early this week.

Silly TTRPG Arguments: "Cantrips can ruin the fantasy world because in D&D 5E.2024 they're free to cast." I have some very simple fixes for this. I can't believe I'm covering this one, but it's so ridiculous I can't pass it up. Fair warning: I'm in full-on old Dungeon Master mode for this one.
WtFriday: Silly TTRPG Arguments, Cantrips.
I can't believe someone on YouTube actually tried to explain how Cantrips, those little 0 Level spells in Dungeons & Dragons, would completely upend a fantasy world if they are free to cast.

Time to bark in the dark. I meant to post this over the weekend. Talking about TTRPG YouTube aka "DungeonTube." My most basic advice to DungeonTubers is go consult the "How-To-YouTube" niche. I do this sort of thing regularly. Today we look at a video by Alexa Saarenoja.
Mid-Week Journey: DungeonTubing and You.
I was overdue for this rant. It was supposed to drop over the weekend. Know your niche. Title, Thumbnail, Hook. Call to Action. Link to more YouTube videos. There, I saved someone a bunch of money.

Continuing with our series of Oni Cryptids. Yes, regular cryptids are cool, but in a world with elves and dragons, how spooky is a regular cryptid. No, we need fangs and big demon energy. This one is an omen, or the beginning of the terrible tragedy.
Monday Monster: Sabretooth Mothman Oni.
Regular Mothman? Naw. Oni, with big teeth. You're lucky I didn't run with the tentacled version.

I'm speculating that this series might not be benefitting a large portion of my audience or at all. I'm looking to see what else we can maybe do to make Wednesday more interesting. I think I'm starting to see why that one DungeonTuber gave up on worldbuilding advice.
Worldbuilding Wednesday: Is It Going to Continue?
I'm toying with the idea of doing something else on Wednesdays. Does anyone out there really *need* worldbuilding advice, tips, tricks, and inserts?

"We knew something was off when the birds went quiet and all of the animals ran and hid. We spotted it a short distance away. Using my superior leadership instincts, we ran away as fast as possible." -- Plucky Pato, Adventurer Extraordinaire. (Self proclaimed.)

Did you encounter it or did it encounter you? Part of a month long Oni Cryptid series.

There were a lot of ups and downs in 2025. I'm looking at new goals and intentions for 2026. I'm also looking at AI art, YouTube, the alleged "death of D&D." and all of the exciting things ahead of us in 2026. Especiallu that part.
Looking Ahead to 2026.
Possibly the last post of 2025. It's been a year, that's for sure.

Yes, this week's entry is a warm, wholesome, gentle tribute to the Elf on the Shelf cartoon character. It is not intended for commercial use. The character has kinda grown on me because my wife and kids are huge fans. I wanted to do something cute for the holidays.
Monday “Monster” Noura the Winter Fox.
It's not very often I do a tribute to the Elf on a Shelf cartoon. My wife and kids are huge fans. It kinda grew on me. Plus tis the season.

Today we look at Ghosts of Wrath from Cawood Publishing. No mushroom dudes in this one. I can't say enough how much I love and appreciate adventure modules written with old school charm and awesome sandbox presentation or a linear plot if so desired. Ghosts of Wrath encourages you to explore!

I love Cawood Publishing. Pure gold in everything they do.

Imagine a massive planet with no God or pantheon of gods. My fantasy TTRPG of choice, Dragonbane, already has this concept baked into it, so I took my old D&D campaign world and weaved in the awesomeness. But how would holidays work? (Please note this is NOT a poke at any real world religion.)
Worldbuilding Wednesday: Holidays Without Religion.
Happy Holidays, whatever you celebrate!

Vicious little fey in need of appeasement have taken over the toys in the house. The Rag doll and the little wooden nutcracker liberated some silverware from the kitchen. " I thought I told you kids to pick up your toys! Aaahh!"
Happy Holidays everyone!

How many times have I said I don't begrudge people keeping the lights on, a roof overhead, and food on the table? Dungeons & Dragons (TableTop RolePlaying Game) YouTube isn't dying. Some people are crying foul because their numbers are down. The rest of us aren't going anywhere.
DungeonTube Isn’t Dying.
There was a video on the Dungeoncraft YouTube channel recently titled, "DungeonTube is Dying." NO. No it is not. To quote Flava Flave, "Don't believe the hype."

Hey everyone. My apologies for the lack of posting as of late. I'm retooling some things behind the scenes and working on a heap of reviews, content, campaigns, solo play stuff, and just lots of general wackiness. 2026 is shaping up to be a big year for the site and the channel. Stay tuned.
Site Update.
Yes, I'm still around and kicking. I'm just not getting the amount of keyboard time I want to be seeing. Lots of little factors play into that. Plus there are the kittens.

While Gates of Krystalia won't replace my beloved Dragonbane, it is one of the best TTJRPGs I've ever seen. Really any anime/manga JRPG for that matter. This game even gives D&D 5E.2024 a run for the money. Highly recommend checking it out.

Gates of Krystalia from Top Notch International is a masterpiece of a TTJRPG.

Some "well-meaning" individual on Threads took issue with something I said in relation to AI art. Is it just me or has that social media environment gotten way more toxic lately? Anywho, back in bitter rant mode. Please disregard. Plenty of happier, warmer, fuzzier things to read.

Sometimes you have to cancel the weekly game session because everyone is out of town for the holiday. Or maybe your have a spouse and children who demand all that attention stuff. (Kidding, Honey!) Here's a few ideas to help pass the time when you can't game but still need a tabletop roleplaying fix

I'm on the verge of handing over a magic item that could blow the map wide open for the group. Using it means they cover far more distance way faster than ever before. I still don't know if I'm ready for this, but we'll see how it goes.

It's a snake with a few turkey-like features and the abilities of a basilisk all rolled into one bizarre hybrid that no dungeoneering adventurer wants to run into. These beasts make great lair guardians and great obstacles for blocking corridors underground. Good times.

I'm getting tired of the anti-Generative AI debate when it comes to TableTop RolePlaying Game creation. If I couldn't use AI art, I still wouldn't be publishing anything. I'm not claiming that I'm an artist, but I get to put my writing out there. And that IS mine.
