Wow, finally.
Breaking: Mike Johnson just announced that he'll swear in Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva on Wednesday at 4pm ET.

Just submitted a paper proposal entitled: Polarization and Presidential Power: An Explanation for the Increase in Use of Unilateral Power via Executive Orders to the New England Political Science Association for their conference in Burlington, VT, in April, 2026.

I'm glad it looks like the shutdown is ending, but not happy with how it may be ending. I've little to no faith that Speaker Johnson or Leader Thune will honor the deal. If that's the case, the Dems need to hammer the Reps over their failure to keep their word.

Just concluded a great Northeastern Political Science Association conference. Great feedback on my paper/book with Lisa Parshall and lively discussion at panel where I was the discussant. Great seeing so many old friends.

Wow, what an outcome for the Dems last night! Very encouraging, but Trump will not get the message - it must have been rigged. No time for complacency. Get right back to work for the mid terms.

Feeling relieved. I just completed the process for a new Medicare Advantage Plan for next year. The one I have now was going to eliminate the $0 premium.

A fascinating look at what the Founders might think of our current politics.

Seems my travels over the past weekend got me confused about dates and I missed Canadian Thanksgiving. So, a belated Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends.

The weekend of driving to Long Island and the Catskills, and then a quick visit with our grandson, is complete. Now back to the revisions!

I heard the Mets DFA'd Siri. So, they're only using Android phones now?

Glad to see Nexstar came to its senses. I guess the ABC/Disney threat to Sinclair about losing Monday Night Football and ABC News got through their thick skulls. Imagine the loss of all that ad revenue.

This is an excellent observation.

Boycott Nextstar. Stream ABC shows via apps.

I wonder if cable companies could perhaps provide the satellite link to the ABC network feed instead of just the local station. Come on Spectrum, I get TV, internet, and mobile service from you, give me ABC not censored by Nextstar.

Still not clear if my local ABC station WTEN - a Nextstar-owned affiliate - will be showing Kimmel when ABC puts him back on. It's all about their desire to be allowed to merge with a competitor by sucking up to a dictator. I will seek an alternative way to view ABC shows.
