Annual viewing of the greatest pirate movie ever made (sorry Disney), CAPTAIN BLOOD (1935), starring Errol Flynn, Olivia de Haviland, Basil Rathbone and Lionel Atwill (along with a bevy of amazing character actors). Directed by a pre-CASABLANCA Michael Curtiz!

Today seemed like an appropriate day to visit the Japanese Fishing Village Memorial on Terminal Island. It commemorates the people who lived & fished here, until our government rounded them up during WWII and put them in internment camps without trial, confiscating most of their homes and property.

I was challenged to go take some pics with a 15 year-old Sony cybershot (pictured), to test to what it can actually do in the hands of a ‘real’ photographer (whatever that means these days).
It defiantly has its limitations, but overall I was really impressed.

I’m digitizing a bunch of old Hi-8 video footage, and the sounds and feel of this old Sony camcorder have been making me nostalgic, so I made this. #sony #retrocam #vintagecamcorder #hi8

Torrance, CA today. I drive by these tracks twice a week at least now for years… always wanted to get a shot when train cars are parked there. Today I had a spare moment AND my mirrorless camera with me— it was 99 degrees so I didn’t take overlong, but I like the shot. Sony NEX 7/135mm zoom lens.
