Lots of stress. Lots of hours. Lots of wasted time that could have been spent preparing for the school year.
In the past 3 weeks, how many hours did state and district leaders spend frantically re-arranging budgets, contracts, and staffing plans to address the budget uncertainty? Did that improve student outcomes?

What a ridiculous waste of scarce resources.

Great news!
Breaking News: The White House said it would release $5.5 billion in frozen education funds to states, reversing a decision that had sent school districts scrambling. The money will help train and recruit teachers, give extra support for children learning English and fund arts and music education.
