Finished Christopher Priest's "The Affirmation" on the plane last night. Priest is probably most famous for writing "The Prestige" which Nolan's movie was based on. This one's more literary than sci-fi (though the two categories have porous boundaries).Reminds me a bit of Robbes-Grillet. Enjoyed it!

As a gen-Xer, I feel that sarcasm is the spice that gives conversation interest. Just like I prefer spicy food, I need some feigned insincerity and jadedness.

I've been watching the 10 episode Patrick Troughton serial The War Games. It's surprisingly good, but wow, is it long. 4 hours total. It's the serial where Time Lords were introduced.
