When I went to hoopladigital, I found a new movie there. A misnomer, for it is an older movie, from 1999, with James Earl Jones. www.npr.org/2025/02/14/n...
This long-buried 1999 film offers a new chance to see James Earl Jones
There are many reasons to seek out Charles Burnett's long-buried 1999 film, but perhaps primary among them: The rare chance to see Lynn Redgrave, Margot Kidder and James Earl Jones share the screen.

Hard to imagine anything good coming out of the Bondi beach attack, but there was this earlier today (there were many first responders and a survivor there, too).

💙📚 💡📚 I read a lot, both audiobooks and non. Right now, I'm listening to The Anti-Federalist Papers and the Constitutional Convention Debates, edited by Ralph Ketcham, read by Sean Runnette. It's quite something. The delegates were worried about what's finally come to pass. Good book to read.

Both statements are valid! My feeling is that del Toro's is about people understanding that he took liberties. Not about them understanding the movie.
Guillermo del Toro: "I've taken some liberties in adapting the Mary Shelly novel, I hope everyone understands."

Ishiro Honda: "Frankenstein the deathless will fight a burrowing dinosaur with a glowing horn and radiation breath, signifying mankind will never understand the monsters we create."

Libraries matter. Access matters.

After years of legal battles, the Internet Archive is still here—and still fighting for a world where everyone can read, learn, and remember.

Internet Archive’s legal fights are over, but its founder mourns what was lost

THE ARCH OF SOLSTICE (2016)
Acrylic - 16” x 26”

For several months, I’d been taking daily walks after sunset, and the moon has been my companion much of the time. One evening a crescent moon hung over the horizon with Venus glowing brilliantly below it. 1/4
