I think we’ve got better and more culturally-varied street food than I could have imagined, cool jackets galore, and drugs that make us think we’re really fast and strong before they kill us.
we're getting all the downsides of cyberpunk (social alienation, ruthless hyper capitalism, digital mass surveillance state) but none of the promised upsides (cheap street food, cool jackets, super drugs that make you really fast and strong before they kill you)

Now trying to post here more often after being inspired by the very kind @geekygearhead99.bsky.social.

It's been a week! Started to feel under the weather on Tuesday, but wanted to power through because skipping out on work but going to Ford's presser felt like it would send the wrong message.

I kept watching the trophy presentation and it's wonderful stuff

Butch Jones gives a postgame speech with Master Chief standing next to him, players are holding up Xbox Achievement signs, the camera can't stay still for some reason and there's a life-size version of a Halo Warthog on the field

Just got out of the early screening of Superman there's this wonderful afterglow. It was made with a ton of love for DC comics, from the bizarre to the mundane. You'll believe a man who can fly wants nothing more than to be a farm boy from Kansas who helps everyone in the world.

People have already made 3D printable mouse-shaped Joy-Con holders, because of course they have.

Tried one out and it seems to like it could help a lot - sort of nuts that Nintendo didn’t have something like this ready to sell at launch.

Some other Switch 2 observations:
- The "Welcome Tour" app is surprisingly cool (one minigame reminded me of Mario Paint) and it is insane that Nintendo is charging for it
- Metroid looks and feels fantastic
- Cyberpunk 2077 runs at 40fps in performance mode while docked (oof)

@bradlinder@fosstodon.org, the Mastodon embeds did not initially load on Tuesday's Lilibits. Chrome timed out, saying the page wasn't responding. After I reloaded it, the embeds showed up. Are these resources intensive or just not playing nice with Chrome?

I don't get it, man. You make one of the most successful LIVE service titles of the generation, despite the world telling you LIVE service is dead - and still get laid off? What are we even doing at this point

I'm told there's a chance KJ Martin ends up being re-routed from Detroit before the dust settles. Pistons are working multiple angles on the trade deadline front.

But for now, they've have landed a 24-year-old wing shooting 38% from 3 this season.

@botherer.bsky.social Yo! The horrible tiles you hated was Windows 8, not 7. The update that returned to a more default UI, Windows 8.1, was actually quite good and somehow is still better than Windows 10/11 on tablets. I love my Surface for its portability, but it sucks without its keyboard cover.

Ivey's currently shooting 40.8% from 3 on the season after starting 4-4 from deep tonight. His growth as a shooter is a big developmental win for the franchise

While it's definitely not a sold out game, the Spartan faithful are quite lively. #MSUvsOakland

@neilhimself.neilgaiman.com you're incredibly active on this platform and I think that's really kind of you to interact with random fans. It's also a good reminder for Stardust to get added to my household's date night rotation. I hope it gets a physical UHD release one of the days 🙏

Well let's see if this Bluesky thing ever takes off. Already is significantly more usable than whatever Facebook is trying to do with Threads. Now I just need the sports reporters and car community to migrate over here 🤞
