Currently living in Occupied Trumpistan
My family and I just saw “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” at New World Stages in NYC. We’d also seen it back during its original Broadway run. I’d forgotten just how much I love it - and how much I adore William Finn’s shows.

For the foreseeable future, the 'mic drop' phrase to use to shut down MAGATs is a simple "Quiet, Piggy!"

It should be ever so useful at family Thanksgiving dinners across the nation

What do you think the odds are on Mike Johnson being subjected to a "motion to vacate"? He just suffered his second-in-a-row discharge petition which doesn't speak well of his ability to control his own party caucus.

I'm not sure who is worse (as a party leader), Johnson or Chuck Schumer.

t was mid-afternoon on the first day of the current DuoLingo week. It is simply not possible to have such high scores this early. It's not like you get anything for "winning" anyway, so why cheat so blatantly?

How much you wanna bet that, in the extremely unlikely event that Trump actually follows through on his $2000-for-everybody thing, the $2000 will actually be in his failing USD1 stablecoin cryptocurrency, which can’t be used to buy anything

If Megyn Kelly's 14 year-old daughter was raped by some powerful man, do you suppose she'd still see that as any different than if it had happened when she was 9?

Is anyone besides me wondering why Michael Wolff was plotting with/advising Jeffrey Epstein on how to blackmail Donald Trump?

Please Please Please MS Now/MSNBC - do NOT continue the attempt to rehabilitate Chris Mathews. He sucks as bad as ever.

For what it's worth, I don't think the message of Mamdani's win is 'run socialists everywhere'. It's 'run people everywhere who fit their specific place and have the knowledge and instincts to make persuasive progressive arguments relevant to that place'.

it’s been a while since I made any bread other than challah. This is a sourdough focaccia with grape tomatoes, kalamata olives, fresh rosemary, and a sprinkle of Maldon salt

Came out great! We used it to make dinner - sandwiches with goat cheese, roasted red peppers, and baby arugula

JD Vance changed his opinion on Trump only after Vance realized just how much Trump's neck reminded him of his couch cushions

Trump's neck is now in the top 1% on OnlyFans

One or the other of these (at least) is true: Tulsi Gabbard committed tax fraud in Texas, or Tulsi Gabbard committed voter fraud in Hawaii.

If Hakeem Jeffries - supposedly the leader of Democrats in the House and a representative of New York City - can’t or won’t endorse the publicly selected Democratic candidate for Mayor in the city he represents, he has NO business being the party leader

There was only one truly funny bit of writing/delivery in tonight’s Emmy Awards show - the pre-award presenters’ schtick between Brad Garrett and Ray Romano
September 15, 2025 at 3:29 AM
The writing for the Emmy Awards broadcast really sucks - even by the debased standards of awards shows
