In this article published #OpenAccess in @larrlasa.bsky.social, I provide an overview of the social and political phenomena that gave rise to libertarianism and led to the victory of Javier #Milei in #Argentina. It's based on a review of 10 recent books on the topic

Something extraordinary is happening in Argentina: the fans of two futbol (soccer) teams came out in support of retirees yesterday, against vicious cuts by the Milei government. Retirees and fans were repressed by the police, now dozens of other club fans will come out next week

I remember when NYC subways were covered with Shen Yun ads. They said “China before communism” showing a colorful, magnificent dance performance. Turns out Shen Yun relied on massive unpaid labor, justified on religious grounds, to accumulate $266 Million in just 10 years.
It’s a great metaphor

So many things wrong with this. 1. It’s not “war”, it’s a genocide
2. “War” seems to be a random incident, with no culprits, when the responsibility for this is clear: primarily, Israel & US governments
3. Why highlight the 1/million story with happy ending? NYT trying give a positive spin again 😡
