djweeks_We often talk about the void an absent or abusive father leaves but what about a mother?Having an absent or abusive mothers takes a toll that is equally as harmful and because we don’t believe mothers can do such things to their children people are often written off as being “too sensitive”The void left by an absent or abusive mother is not a simple emptiness, it is a hunger that seeps into every part of life. It teaches us to question our worth, to chase love that mirrors the pain we first knew, to silence our needs in fear they’ll drive others away.This wound is not just about what we didn’t receive, but about the story it whispered into our bones, that we were unworthy of tenderness. But the truth is, this story was never ours to carry. Healing begins when we grieve what was lost, when we tend to the child within us who still aches, and when we dare to believe that love is real, safe, and unconditional.
