On #kyriarchy, #intersectionality, disgust as infrastructure, & why those subjected to #InstitutionalViolence communicate in signs administrators are trained not to read.

A machinery analysis.

If #liberation feels like destruction, that’s because it is.

New essay: “¿Nos ahogamos Where Overwhelm Has No Shore?”

On simultaneity, cascading perception, somatic weight, and the failure of language to carry lived experience that happens all at once.

Not an explanation. A demonstration.

¿Nos ahogamos Where Overwhelm Has No Shore?
My psychologist asked me how I’m feeling today, and I said: “Overwhelmed.” But that’s not right.

An attempt to language the unlanguageable—¿what happens when "overwhelmed" isn't the right word, when the experience exceeds what language can hold, and you try to trace the actual thing?

Meaning accretes irreversibly, somatically, and recursively, faster than language can sequentially express it.

Oftentimes, when we experience a work of art—like a painting, a poem, a performance, a film, or a song—we are asked how the piece made us feel or what it made us think about or what it helped us remember. I wish more people asked, “What did the piece help you forget?”

Standards for how well people should remember are often unattainable.

Fun birthday fact since today is mine!

A day on Venus is longer than a year on Venus.

The difficulty, of course, is knowing when Venus' actual date of birth was, as our archives don't have its birth certificate.

Don't spend a year (Earth or Venusian) thinking about this.

I've taught myself how to create bilateral stimulation music and 8D music. Working on an album that incorporates these immersive and therapeutic experiences.

In the meantime, you can listen to my previous albums albums!

Reminder that you are not a brand. You are a complex, nuanced, flawed, multi-faceted human being. Be kind to yourself and give yourself some grace.

Something has never sat well with me about the term "marginalized voices." "Marginalized voices" seems to reduce complex histories of systematic oppression to a passive phrase that obscures both the oppressors and the fullness of peoples' experiences and existence, both historically and presently.

Despite this, it’s vital to embrace your individuality and intellectual or artistic pursuits, even when they challenge conventional understanding.
Friendly reminder:

It’s not always that you don’t make sense, are unclear, or that your ideas lack meaning—often, it’s that others struggle to connect with your ideas, miss the value in your insights, interpret things differently, or have perspectives that don’t align.

Question:

Have you ever considered how far back in time and space you’d need to go before speakers of your language would no longer understand you and perceive your speech as a foreign language?

The Future is more ancient
than the Past.
The gray hairs on its beard
outnumber those
of History’s youth.

The Past is the child of Time.
Humbled by its mortality
it matures.
