I saw a report and a few nice images of the return of the sandhill cranes to the refuges around the San Joaquin/Sacramento Delta area. It is worth sharing. I will be in the area north of Lodi later this week. #birds

45% of my subjects are birds. I like places where I can take multiple shots of the same subject. The three were taken on a small 'San Gregorio' beach. The three images are a study taken several minutes apart as the subject worked the water's edge. The fourth was shot during my lunch break. #birds

This is a song sparrow. He would move away and hide behind plants & was elusive. I was using my old Canon EOS because it had a faster repeat frame rate compared to my Nikon D60. This was shot in the dunes west of US Highway 1, between Costanoa RV park & Pigeon Pt Light House. #birds #photography.
