what gets me with the arc raiders voice AI thing is that the response is often "well the voice actors agreed with it so it's fine" or "it's TTS which isn't genAI"
except that's effectively still the same as all the other exploitative genAI jobs you see around that are meant to replace actual work

Heads up for folx playing Arc Raiders: Embark has openly stated (in an interview with GamesRadar+), that the game uses the same AI voice tech as The Finals, and the CEO has talked about using AI to generate 3D models from YouTube rips.

Not to be the fun police but I do hope people know that Arc Raiders does use generative AI for voice acting, and by supporting the game you're letting higher-ups know that this is an okay practice.

Most people don’t know that with SNAP you are banned from buying “foods that are hot at the point of sale”. So even if you have SNAP (which people don’t now) you can’t get cooked food. Which means you need to also actually have the resources to PREPARE a “healthy” meal.
Thinking about the social stigma against eating fast food in a country where poor people are being starved by the govt, the cost of groceries and fresh vegetables are astronomical, and a cheeseburger at McDonald’s costs $3.50.
