Sure, Robert Altman's Dr T & the Women is a mess and it isn't very good, but credit for how totally off the rails insane it goes in the third act!

Robert Redford was an exceptionally magnetic presence that could anchor any film. Among a mountain of monumental work it's nearly impossible to choose a favourite. Julius-Amédée Laou's The Old Sorceress and the Valet. A film that feels like a painful secret and in some ways plays like an unsentimental, raw antithesis to Leo McCarey's 1937 masterpiece Make Way for Tomorrow. Captivating, insightful stuff. Currently streaming on Criterion Channel.
