I'm still processing a comment from a paper review where they said we "misinterpreted" articles we cited because we cited them for specific arguments made in the paper and not for the whole thesis of the paper. Is this a thing?

I've been going through the process of closing down my Twitter/X personal account. I've unfollowed accounts and removed my followers while deleting tweets. I've also not interacted with content in months. So now my For You page is full of very racist right-wing tweets from blue-tick accounts. 😭

Funny how it's "you cannot break the laws of physics" when it comes to efficiency and reliability of renewable energy sources but not on how fossil carbon impacts global climate. Oilman logic! 😩

My colleague Milena Bojovic wrote about her PhD research on a just transition for the New Zealand dairy industry to a sustainable food future and to navigate the disruptions from alternative protein industries.

NZ’s dairy industry faces an uncertain future – its fate now lies in its ability to adapt
Fewer cows on the farm and a broader range of farming practices, including involvement in the emerging alternative proteins industry, could help New Zealand’s dairy sector remain viable.

I can't understand why academic writing needs to be dense. Every statement needs to be referenced. Can't I write a topic sentence without a reference and unpack that in the following sentences that are referenced? Why are there reviewers that review line by line?

Proud of my internal grant record - most projects that have been successful were interdisciplinary with real-world outcomes.
