The role of genetics in epidemics continues to fascinate. This fits with my own recent work on family ties and disease risks.
Epidemics select for favorable genetics. U. Chicago researchers find Black Death survivors' descendants have stronger immune systems but higher autoimmune disease risk. Covid-19's evolutionary impact remains to be seen:
