...going into 3rd week of Lent asks what are you hungry to learn? It's kind of more things I wish I wasn't learning, like the function of every federal agency -- because I can trust they are functioning.

Today's devotion asks if thinking, feeling, or acting is personally easier in terms of faith. Because of how feeling has been used to manipulate, I trust thinking and acting. I lean into them both. In them, I sense the presence of the Spirit/Love.

Today's devo asks when we've received extraordinary hospitality, and I realized that every time I have (car breakdown pre-phones,etc.) required *me* trusting and receiving help from a stranger. One became a hero for rescuing my friend and me, plus a burning Jeep of college students in a storm.

Today's devotion asks how we are good neighbors. It's easy in my actual neighborhood with great neighbors. I'm working on meeting Hope's neighbors. And on engaging our kids' school neighborhoods. Across from 1 was the site of a recent triple murder. I wonder how I could be a neighbor there?

Today's question asks how you feel when a stranger approaches? I'm cut from the "strangers are just friends we haven't met" cloth, so I welcome the interaction. My Dad and several of my grandparents were the same, never met a stranger.

On Ash Wed, a dear clergy friend and her co-pastor were confronted by an angry White Nationalist just before worship. In the letter to the whole congregation describing new security measures, they closed with the phrase "take heart dear ones, the kin-dom is near" This is my daily Lent mantra.

What keeps you from taking action? Honestly for me it's energy. If I have the energy I do it.

Ash Wed starts with a call from the dr office about 1 kid, a dog mess, and the other kid angry to wake up. Not exactly a spiritual haven. Still, my Lent commitment blocked me from scrolling after they were out the door. Instead, prayerful commitment to 6 weeks of intentional openness to the Spirit.
