Life is a bit chaotic rn. Currently, a bathroom remodel is underway, family stuff, and winter makes doing anything I would like to difficult. I have lost recording time due to the remodel, but the one series I have going is coming to an end (next video), and I have to figure out what's next.

Yay, computer issues at work (sarcasticly said)...on the first day back from the break for the holidays. This bodes ill. Hopefully, I don't bring these bad vibes home to my personal computer. Hopefully, these issues are just related to the age of the work computer. I'm crossing my fingers.

So I'm currently waiting for a package to arrive that I ordered in October. Currently, there are high wind warnings and at times looking like blizzard conditions, but I saw the local bald eagle fly past my house, so that was cool!

So a fun fact about me is I tend to procrastinate. Have since I was in school. But mainly cause I knew I could get my stuff done in time. They were decent, but not great.

I wish I didn't need a deadline still to get big things done. At work, I don't, but on the creative side...thats iffy at best.

Why am I so against generative AI in games?

Because I simply do not want my initial reaction to art to be one of suspicion and scrutiny, AI slop is fundamentally damaging my relationship to art and artistry, and I am deeply resentful that it is forcing me to be guarded when I should be wowed.

I want to start something, but a few things are holding me up. Mainly procrastination, but then there's self-doubt, and that tiny little voice that tells me "I'm not good at the thing"...at least the last one can be combatted with "I can't get good unless I start." Then it's if I have the time. Hmm

Do not impliment the AI auto clip tool Twitch has implemented a sign up for an AI alpha auto clip tool. This is very unethical in many ways to not just content creation but also to things outside content creation. I ask twitch to remove this sign up and not engage in any use of AI when it comes to content creation. Facts about AI usage Google’s single Iowa data center alone consumed 1 billion gallons of water in 2024. The first way AI uses water is for cooling. Data centers run thousands of powerful computers around the clock. As these machines crunch numbers and manage data, they generate a lot of heat. To keep everything running smoothly, water is often used in cooling systems. This can mean circulating water through pipes to absorb heat or using evaporative cooling towers that release warm air. Ai is trained to use already created content for training with out user consent. This has already been happening on social media. Twitch's AI clip tool ''claims'' they will not use user generated clips with out consent for training to assume what constitutes as high engagement moments for clip creation. AI data centers now generate 2.5–3.7% of global greenhouse gas emissions, officially surpassing the aviation industry’s 2% contribution while growing 15% annually. It is very important that people speak up and say no to the AI clip tool especially partners and ambassadors as this tool is very harmful to the community. Turning it off as an option is not enough.

Something that continues to baffle me is the fact that my tortie Maui is so attached to me. I can just look at her, and she starts purring. I am a-okay with this. Though Charlie has a lot of mannerisms of my dearly departed Emma... I wonder if Emma nudged me towards these two for this reason.
Maui is snuggled up next to me with her head on my pillow that has a towel on it to protect it from their fur and claws. We are laying on a green and white blanket modeled after a leaf. Charlie is being a derp and 'falling' off a folded blanket onto another blanket that is purple. She's showing her belly and has her front legs somewhat tucked. This is my dear Emma. She's an Abyssinian mix, and in this picture, she was 18 years and 4 months old. She's laying on a holiday themed text pillow with her front legs stretched out and off the pillow while her head is laid down. The rest of this description is lore and does not pertain to the picture. I still miss her even though it's been 1 year and almost 11 months. I know I will always have an Emma shaped hole in my heart. She was my childhood cat and even made it through college with me. I am forever grateful that I was able to be with her as she passed. That was my one fear as I was going through college, that I wouldn't be able to be with her and get to say goodbye.

It's weird for me at my job rn because there's a few of us who believe that our boss is getting ready to retire, however as it's a small business we're unsure what that will mean for us. I hope I can get a new job soon that's closer to home before then but for rn all seems well. I'll give it a year.
