Sen. Strom Thurmond voted against the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act, AND supported Jim Crow laws.

Thurmond’s record for longest floor speech (in protest of the Civil Rights Act, no less!) was just broken by a Black man, my good friend Cory Booker.

Please can you stop removing blurbs from the back of books and replacing them with praise quotes from people who’ve read it.

I choose books based on the story not because Josh Widdicombe or someone enjoyed it.
