#buildinpublic update:
this week I updated our website where we write more about our progress. Check it out on www.diskura.com
it's really cute. You get to meet our co-founder.
I’ve been in Japan now for a week and it’s been a blast. ☺️ Didn’t manage to do much work but sometimes you have to take a break from #buildinpublic.

Hello from Osaka!
It’s my first time in Japan & I really like it so far. 🥰

We’ve decided not to be afraid of building something difficult or big. Time is on our side.

Good morning everyone. I hope you have a lovely weekend. 🥰 What’s the plan for today?

Design tools as a business are difficult due to legacy market owners and overall cost but I think there is still an opportunity for challengers. It requires someone who has time to put in.

#buildinpublic update: multiscreen tests.
I added ability to split screens, which will enable the user to map out their workspace however they want to.
We believe that complex 'outside the box' layouting in Diskura will improve performance, by finally setting us free from the 1 screen prison.

For #founders - it’s not late! These are the stats on success. VCs tend to invest younger for various reasons but business happens later. It also takes more time than you think!

#buildinpublic update:
Really cool progress this week. Now we are on the negotiation engine which will ‘negotiate’ which layer of the layout engine has priority. This piece is very complicated and will take a while to get right, BUT it is the thing that will make Diskura kinda crazy for power users.

I find it so weird when rich people promote random products on socials. I genuinely don’t get it. For example Sofia Richie is as rich as they get and she is shilling Shark hair tools. Not even a Dyson. It makes no sense. You don’t need the money. Why do that to yourself?

Buns for days 🥰

At some point hotel breakfast became the same no matter what hotel you are at in US, UK or EU. Same sausages, same powder scrambled eggs, bacon, same mini pasteries, same tomatoes, beans etc. I think it’s the same supplier and it’s all feeling fake and nasty. Why is nobody talking about this? 😳

desktop is alive 🧟‍♂️
October 10, 2025 at 1:16 PM
#buildinpublic update:
- we initiated electron for the desktop version
- layout engine is working but needs more finetuning
- components need to talk to slots, and slots back to components, we now have a system for it

A sidenote, saw this at a crossing. Supporting fellow makers 🫶

Starling Bank new rebrand is bad. And it’s not about ‘fear of change’, issues are fully technical. Colors don’t work in practice, typeface has kerning and readability issues. Visual positioning & execution is more aligned w a new startup that doesn’t have cash to nail it all the way, not big bank.

I’m thinking of moving to Antwerp. Anyone here from there to say hi? 👋

#buildinpublic update:
• we built a coordinate based custom layout engine
• we can switch between layouts without any hassle or heavy coding
• it's fully adjustable, and we can map out pages very quickly as well as run changes
• the goal is to have a very sophisticated expandable UI for creatives

Today was nice. Needed a break.

I’ve been thinking how private cars are the worst thing that happened to society. If we never introduced this and kept it only for commercial use, our world would look very different with many more human centric amenities. Imagine the public transport network, silence, community…

#buildinpublic update:
If you are an indie maker or a founder trying to make anything - give yourself some grace in the process. I know some days it sucks just grinding without immediate results.

I worry they are just turning them into martyrs this way.

Good morning ☀️ to everyone except the three big-headed idiots that are ruining it for the rest of us.
September 10, 2025 at 7:03 AM
#buildinpublic update:
• improved our layout engine to have different working modes without breaking
• this means Diskura can be used for doing all kinds of tasks while maintaining unified and buildable UI across multiple screens
• we removed hard coded sections for better scalable code🏅

Saw this on a walk. Wonder what was their tipping point 🤭

Gilded Age 2.0 that we are living in is definitely NOT a vibe.
