I wrote a book about a mad king who takes over a city, Münster, Germany in 1533, stokes apocalyptic fever dreams of Christ's return, and in 16 months brings it to ruin. Seems kind of timely somehow.

After my incandescent rage has subsided, I keep asking myself one question: What was the Dems endgame? Trump would never negotiate, @GOP is utterly corrupt, and Dems don't have the numbers. So, was there any outcome in the real world that would have satisfied us?

Not to be all bummer, but the chances of the Epstein Files becoming public anytime Trump is alive are basically 0. Hope I'm wrong about this, but they will stay buried as long as Trump is in power.

Everybody talking about how weak a leader Sen. Schumer is, but he engineered an abject surrender of the Democratic Senate and kept his fingerprints off of it (or so he thinks).

Not sure why people keep holding on to the Epstein files being released. They will never see the light on day. Am I wrong?

Trump: I'm dismantling the Constitution, building a paramilitary fascist army loyal only to me, demolishing the White House, and blowing up the US economy for my billionaire cronies

If I'm Republican I'm thinking of nuking the filibuster. There's literally no cost in doing so. Evidently the Democrats don't have the guts to do what needs to be done if they had the power.

Every Dem senator coming up for election in 2026 should be challenged, even the "good" ones. If they want to lead, then they should be fighters. Also, new leadership in House and Senate. Now!

This John Sauer argument reminds me of trying to blow bullshit exegesis past my New Testament professor in seminary. His response? "Mr. Pugh, you can use an amazing amount of words without saying anything germane to the question at hand."
