Deep in the forest you may hear a small creek or river, but it requires a keen eye to find it. Once found, a whole day is spent playing in it, trying to redirect the flow. This painting reveals the foliage of late fall when the leaves tend to be the darkest and most pigmented. I wanted to capture that feeling in my painting “Blue Dream”. Still working on my style, I used a few simple elements to depict a landscape scene of a river flowing through a forest with autumn leaves on the forest floor. I hope that when people see this painting, they feel the same sense of serenity that I feel when I look at it. This horizon provides an innate sense of comfort and it feels as though the mountains may scoop you up. You can sense the cool air and the peaceful silence of this scene. The mountains in the background are so high that the sunrise hasn’t yet peaked over. It is still crisp and dewy, the lake is extremely calm. The rocks are jagged poking out of the shoreline, causing a break in the forest.
