I wanted to hold onto that brief winter moment when the shadows are still deep and cool, but the sun is just starting to soften everything. Many homes such as this one, were built in Elora Ontario, Canada sometime during the 1800’s. In the company of large, sweeping evergreen and deciduous trees, the home appears comfortably tucked into the cold drifts of snow. While this piece is mainly cool toned, we see a glimmer of the changing seasons to come; fleeting afternoon sun laces through the foreground, gilding the woody details with its warm touch. The palette of this painting was completed using many layers of pigments. #Jeffdillonfineart #artcollector #fineart #originalpainting #contemporarypainting
